In the past one year we have taken a total of 91 flights across all continents and saw some really beautiful views from the air. Here are some of the best ones that we took with our phone to share with you:
No.13 – Tierra del Fuego, Argentina
This was a flight from El Calafate to Tierra del Fuego in Argentina, right before landing.
No.12 – New York, USA
Skyline of New York! Simply amazing!
No.11 – Galapagos Island, Ecuador
From capital Quito to Galapagos, which is famous due to Darwin. Before landing we could see all the islands lining up. I was wondering how many animals species are living on those islands!
No.10 – El Calafate, Argentina
From Bariloche to El Calafate, before landing – the view of Lago Argentino just beside the airport.
No. 9 – Atacama Desert, Chile
From capital Santiago to Calama airport, right before landing – you can see the wild vast Atacama Desert, with wind power facilities.
No. 8 – Pyramid near Cairo, Egypt
From Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to Cairo, Egypt – before landing when passing through the west bank of Cairo, you could see the pyramid groups! How exciting!
No. 7 – Punta Uvita, Cost Rica
From San Jose to Osa Peninsula, we passed by this Punta Uvita which is so much like fishtail.
No.6 – Glacier Grey, Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, Chile
From southern end of Chile (Puntas Arenas) to Santiago, I purposely chose a window seat on the right side, in order to view the famous “Glacier Grey”, which I didn’t have chance to go when hiking in Paine National Park.
No.5 – The Alps, Switzerland
From Athens to London, when we passed through Switzerland, the broadcast from the captain made me eye to the left – endless Alps snow-covered peaks with dark blue sky and lagoons: Just magnificent!
No.4 – Doha, Qatar
Mid-night flight from Doha to Shiraz, Iran – right after take-off, we flew right past the central commercial district where there are beautifully designed skyscrapers lighting up the sky of Doha!
No.3 – Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica
This was the same flight from San Jose to Peninsula Osa. After passing Punta Uvita, we entered Corcovado National Park on Peninsula Osa. This is an area which has the second most biodiversity in the world after Amazons – you can imagine how many different species of animals/plants are in there!
No.2 – Sabancaya Volcano, Peru
From Arequipa to Cusco, if the weather is good and you’re seating on the right side, you can see a series of 4,000m+ snow-covered peaks and volcanoes. This active Sabancaya Volcano was the one which impressed me the most!
No.1 – Mountain Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Except the fact that the view is amazing, it is also the highest peak (5895m) in Africa continent – this is why it ranked No.1 on my list! This is on the flight from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to Nairobi, Kenya. If you want to see this view, please make sure you get a window seat on the left side!
